Hand Painted Heart

(Paul Terry)
Sitting on my table,
Sitting, staring, blue skin,
Ruby lips have never smiled so hard.

Sitting where the dust was,
Quietly but blue, still,
Waving one arm like you’d just learned how.

It could’ve been that easy,
It could’ve been that hard,
And then I changed my mind and tell myself again.

I can rinse out the bottle,
I can collect the rain
There’s still nothing to say
I can see where we’ve drunk from
It all just tastes the same
There’s still nothing to say

Sheltered by the creases
Sheltered by it all now,
Wrapped it up in windows for a while,
Painted by the colour,
Painted by the nightfall,
Seep it in to war the dust outside

It could’ve been that easy,
It could’ve been that hard,
And then I changed my mind and tell myself again.

I can rinse out the bottle,
I can collect the rain,
There’s still nothing to say.
I can see where we’ve drunk from,
It all just tastes the same,
There’s still nothing to say.

Sitting on my table,
Sitting, staring, blue skin,
Ruby lips have never smiled so hard.

Sitting where the dust was,
Quietly but blue, still,
Waving one arm like you’d just learned how,
I tell myself again.

I can rinse out the bottle,
I can collect the rain,
There’s still nothing to say.
I can see where we’ve drunk from,
It all just tastes the same,
There’s still nothing to say.
Nothing to say,
Nothing to…
